13 Aug 09: Windows 64-bit compatibility.

Backward compatibility: Most, if not all, 32-bit software applications (except for drivers) can operate in Windows 64-bit the way they do in Windows 32-bit. In other words, Windows 64-bit can run all what Windows 32-bit runs plus 64-bit applications.

Our software is 32-bit. It has not been tested on 64-bit Windows. However, as the statment above suggests, it's assumed to work the same.

Q. Windows Vista prompts that the program has been blocked at startup.
A. Update: these issues have been overcome as of March 2009. However, if you still have trouble please see below, or, upgrade your version.

There are 2 ways to resolve this issue. The first is to disable UAC (User Account Control) - Doing so will replace UAC with WinGuard Pro own UAC security. The other is to add the program in Task Scheduler, as explained below.

Disabling UAC
1 Open Control Panel and click User Accounts
2 Click "Turn User Account Control on or off"
3 Click Continue to the security warning
4 Untick the box "Use User Account Control to help protect my computer" and click OK
5 Restart your computer.

or,

Adding WinGuard Pro to task schedule (keeping UAC enabled)
1 Click Start > Accessories > System Tools > Task Scheduler
2 Click Continue on the security warning
3 Click "Action" menu and "Create Basic Task"
4 In "name" enter: WinGuard Pro and click next
5 In "when do you want this program to start" select: "when I log on" and click Next
6 Then select "Start a Program" and click Next
7 "Program/Script" field enter: c:\windows\system32\setup_vf.exe
8 Click Next then Finish and restart computer to test

A. See "Recent" at top of page.

Q. I have Internet Explorer 7 password protected and if I try to cancel the Password Prompt it keeps coming back again.
